Just curious if these fan speeds are normal (optical 1400, HD 1100, and CPU 1900) when the only thing running is Safari? Thanks.

The only time I hear fans on any of my iMacs is when flash is running. I use click to flash to control that. I believe there is a safari extension now from the same maker but he was recently hired by Apple so I don't know if it is being maintained.

really, your CPU is only at 937? I've literally been doing nothing but safari for the last few hours and mines at 1900. I have the new i7, so I know its going to run a little hot, but I wonder if this is a problem.

What's you room temps? Ambient temperatures have quite the impact.

Dont know what this means, but I put my computer to sleep, and then brought it right out of it and the speeds are way down now, around 1100 for the CPU. What could have changed in the 15 seconds that I had it asleep, for everything to be operating normal now?

Optical- 999
Hard Drive - 1100
CPU 895
But, ambient temp in my computer room is 68.
