Amazon has toast 6 for $39 after rebates.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000C0ZM1/qid=1101241423/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/002-9175087-4210402?v=glance&s=software&n=507846
I wonder how they can honor all these rebates? I'd hate to buy it and find there is only 1 rebate allowed.

Anyway I just want to burn DVD "ripped" by mac the ripper. Will toast lite work for this? it is cheaper.

Sorry if I already posted this, it didn't appear so I posted twice.

Actually, if you're using Panther, you don't even need Toast (if your drive works with the built-in burning software in Mac OS X) to do this. Open Disk Utility, create an image of the data of type "CD/DVD Master", then burn the image (use the "Burn Image" command. Insert a blank DVD-R when prompted and follow the instructions. These instructions were adapted from this Apple KB article (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42724).

Toast is so much nicer & easier to use.
Faster too, and probably more versatile.

It's the kind of program you don't have to update that often.

Buy it. At that price it's a steal...

I am trying to use disk utility but I think that is for previously burned disks.
I havven't burned this one yet, just copied it with mactheripper. It is in video_ts form.
Now I need to compress it and burn it, don't I need a different program for that?
If not, great, I just cannot figure out how.

You don't suppose it's because I am using DVD + R disks do you to copy?

Depending on your Mac, DVD+ MAY be OK but for full compatibility use the '-' flavour instead.

Use DVD-R, not DVD+R, to get the best results with the Disk Utility method. If you do end up purchasing Toast, you can use either, but only if your drive supports both formats. Actually, now that I look at the Roxio Toast page, all that's offered is Toast 6 Titanium - there is no "Toast Lite". You'd better check the version of Toast being offered on that page - if it isn't version 6, don't bother, since it most likely won't be Mac OS X native.
