View Full Version : Opening the CD tray of an OS-less mac pro!

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums and think I've got a hard one to figure out. I just got my mac pro from a buddy's house (he was holding it for me) and he informed me that he wiped the hard drive, OSX and all.

This means the CD he used to wipe the drive is still in the cd-tray and when I boot up I have no way of inserting the OS disc. Are there any keyboard shortcuts that will work? Any way of prying open the cd-tray without destroying it?

Thanks!

Connect a mouse and hold down the mouse button during startup or use the eject key of the keyboard (if you have an Apple keyboard).
