Hello,

I want to ask you about this crazy stuff. You know, I was trying to replace my old battery with a new one, I've cuted a cables from old one, connected to the new one and it was working good. I've charged it. Then I wanted to solder it to mobo, and... he's gone. The iPod doesn't give any sign of life.

And my question is - does iPod should give ANY sign of life without battery?

Thanks!

Without the battery...no. It should not give any sign of life. But neither is it bricked. "bricking" is usually associated with a fatal software failure.
