iOS UIWebView -> better way?

I am trying to learn to program on the iPad.

Is there a better way to display many pages of document content besides using UIWebView to show a PDF or DOC?

I have taken excerpts from some legal documents and I want to find the best way to display them yet also make them searchable by the user or by my app for keywords.
