I have a Spring 2010 15" MBP that came with a 320gb 5400 rpm Hitachi drive. I've been thinking about upgrading to a 500gb 7200 drive. The primary use of my MBP is for Photoshop CS5 (which I'm aware will benefit somewhat from a faster drive).
In doing some research, one of the issues that sometimes comes up is the additional heat that the faster drives can create. The second is that they tend to drain the battery faster than a 5400 rpm drive. Are these real concerns/issues?
Finally, the manufacturer options are Hitachi, Seagate and Western Digital. Thoughts as to which one?
