Why is the Octo on 1066 Mhz memory ?

Sorry if that question was answered earlier, but why is the base Octo core on 1066 memory whereas it is a Westmear architecture ?

I thought the quad cores were 1066 because they still are Nehalem.

The processors don't support 1333MHz memory. Nehalem and Westmere higher end processors (QPI of 6.4 GT/s and costing $900+) support 1333MHz memory. Apple just disabled it on the 09 models.

Yes, ok that I understood, but the 6 and 12 cores support that memory and they are supposed to be the same generation aren't they ?
Did intel make processors in the same generation ( Westmere) that support different memory speed ?

Or are the octo westmere and 6 - 12 not really the same architecture ?

They just have a different memory speed. Memory speed doesn't really have anything to do with architecture.

From what I read, going from 1066 to 1333 does not improve performance tremandously anyway. SO I suppose it does not matter so much
