5th Generation Nano Battery Problem

Ok, my son and I have bought and returned 3, yes 3, IPOD 5th generation Nano's this week. Each time, I have fully charged the device only to have the battery be completely drained within 15 minutes of listening time or completely drained after 24 hours of being turned off. Help! Yes, we have made sure the IPOD is off and the hold bottom moved to lock. We have charged on different computers.
What is going on here? Are these defective or am I not aware of a setting that might be in place?
I would greatly appreciate any ideas.

Weird problem... well what I've always done with a new iPod is "condition" it. Meaning I charge it up for a few hours, even after it shows that it's fully charged. Run the battery down, then repeat. It's a good way to get your lithium-ion battery "in shape" and most importantly, to keep the battery indicator on your iPod's screen somewhat accurate.

Also you many want to try plugging it into a wall adapter to charge it. Some older laptops do not have as much power to charge devices as compared to an outlet.

with that many ipods, its something you are doing. it could be a bad cable if you are using an older one, a bad wall charger if you are using that, a bad port on your computer if you are using that. mostly its probably a corrupt song or some other information that you are loading onto the nano causing the problem.

Like the one above me said, it's probably something that you're doing. I mean, 3 iPod nano's in a week is somewhat extreme...I would definitely suggest doing the nano calibration. Just charge it fully, leave it on the charger for at least two more hours, discharge completely, and repeat. Then, if you still have problems, something is up with your charging equipment. No way in hell apple could possibly have that many bad iPod nano's...unless they got a seriously horrible shipment. Have you been buying them from the same place?

Very odd, I bought 2 iPod nano 5G's at different times and they both powered on right out of the box. Maybe the store got bunk iPod nano 5G units?

maybe he OC'ed the CPU to play back that rumored new 4k video codec by Apple on his four full HD TVs :D
