I think it's a scam those drives retail 400+$
xDC
I've seen the second generation drives sold on forums for $270-300, so for a craigslist post it doesn't seem all that extreme. It's probably just someone that is in urgent need of cash.
I really can't see SSDs as being an effective medium through which to scam people...
take an enclosure and test it before you purchase.I take care of my electronics..I'm just worried this dude like took it out of the wrapper and stomped on it, dropped it in the toilet, got pissed and threw it against the wall, etc..not knowing the history on it is stopping me from pulling the trigger...
what a deal, though..
take an enclosure and test it before you purchase.
Any 2.5" compatible enclosure will work. As for software, it would depend on which platform you're using to confirm that it functions. hdbench will do the trick in Windows, though I'm not sure what solutions exist for Mac OS.might be a stupid question...
but is there a standard test to run when buying a used drive like this?
also, will a standard 2.5"/3.5" sata enclosure/dock suffice?
Sounds too good to be true.
Going rate (i was just in the market for these drives) is $300ish.
