plextor vs eyetv 200

looking to get a dvr device to record to my g5 (through existing cable subscription). i see that elgato's eyetv 200 (http://elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv200) is $299ish and seems like it is what i want. however (on elgato's site itself) i see a plextor dvr device (http://www.plextor.com/english/products/TV402UMac.htm) for around $150 on macmall.... and it uses the same software as eyetv, and seems to offer the same quality and capabilities, just usb 2 instead of firewire... while i'd rather use firewire, it seems there must be something else creating the $150 difference between the two...

does anyone have any experience with either/both devices and can offer any thoughts/comparisons?
