just looking at buying some new RAM for my MP six core 3.33 and i had a few questions

1. does it matter if the RAM you use is from a different brand? I know it will work whatever but is it a good idea to have RAM which is all the same type? will it have a significant advantage?

2. cheap RAM vs high end RAM? how can you tell the difference? and does it have a significant advantage compared to the additional cost?

Cheers

1. As long as the specs match and it's guaranteed to work with Mac Pro

2. What RAM are you looking at? There shouldn't be much difference because you can only use certain type of RAM

You want to use ECC RAM. IIRC Mac Pro RAM has special heatsinks so not just any RAM works. Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=Mac%20Pro%206-Core%20Mid%202010) sells quality RAM which is guaranteed to work with Mac Pro
