I know this type of thread has been posted millions of times, but I think I have some new questions to ask. So forgive me for repeating a topic.
So, my 3G iPod's battery is nearing its end. It went from 6-8 hours to a disappointing 3 hours. I am in search of a replacement battery. However, there's a few companies to choose from with varying disassembly instructions. Some say you need to use a flathead screwdriver and pry off at a precise point. Others have you pressing somewhere on the metal casing to pop the assembly apart. And there's the ideal one where you use some adhesive to pop one part of your iPod and being repairing.
I'd like to ask for people's opinions on the available options that I've been looking at:
- http://pdasmart.com/ipodpartscenter.htm
- http://www.smalldog.com/product/46815
- And of course, Apple's replacement service.
Which is the best? Which should I dodge?
I was thinking about looking at Apple's replacement service, in hopes of getting a new 4G for a replacement (since they give you refurbs of similar iPods, if I'm not mistaken), but how good are my chances?
Thanks.
