uh... why would you want to do this?

and after reading through it a bit, I didn't notice anything about being cautious around a charged CRT. Those can be not just bad news if they discharge into you, but REALLY BAD NEWS if they do that, causing some serious injury or even death if it gets you good enough.

Better to just use the video window that comes up on your screen, IMO.

you approved the article ;) ...

I find it useless... my friends are just impressed with the iSight and the mac.

The *only* part I read had stuff about discharging and being careful. Even said to use gloves.

Pretty cool--I like the tip about using AppleScript to switch to PAL and back every now and then to make the picture roll :D

Reminds me of the "ElectriClerk" Mac made to imitate the movie "Brazil":

There is a warning, though it is sort of hidden. (i.e. Doesn't directly come out and say "careful, you may kill yourself if you do it wrong!") Should be enough to cover their own ass with the help of a decent legal team.

Exposing a cathode ray tube can be dangerous due to the build-up of high-voltage static electricity on the tube
