Posted this question on Buying Advice, but think its more suitable here (sowie, i'm a newb)

I just bought the 12" 1.2ghz ibook 2 weeks ago. I want to upgrade the memory so I was looking at this PNY stick (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=310270&pfp=cat3).
I am not really sure if the two are compatible though. So if you know the compatibility of this memory stick with ibook, please help me. Thanks a bunch :)

Almost right, but you should have DDR2100 (not 2700) for a 1.2GHz iBook.

2700 willl work, I'm pretty sure I have those when I upgraded my iBook and have no problems with it. it will just take the performance back to make it compatible with 2100.

these (OWC) (http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?model=200&type=Memory&TI=%23TimeFormat%28Now%28%29%2C+&shoupgrds=Show+Upgrades) will also work.

peace.

2700 should work, but the onboard memory will be 2100, so I'd get the same stuff just to be on the safe side...hell, it's cheaper too.
