whoever submitted this URL thank you.

I normally very much dislike the mac service at CompUSA, but the sale will bring me back (despite the holiday crowds)...

but WHAT is up with the 7am-9am time slot? Keeping mac users (and their catering to mac users) out of sight of regular shoppers? Or a special "before hours" behind-the-scenes special VIP event?

That time slot is a little early for me, but will have to wait and see what my wife has to say.

The drawing for the iTunes would be nice. Wonder if you have to be present at 9am to win?

Because of my research study, the coffee is the only thing that I could enjoy food wise.

I wonder just what kind of specials they will be offering?

if i didnt have school i would go, but i expect you are right about them trying to hide us from the other customers. the mac section at my local compusa is allways covered in dust.

If I didn't work in the morning I'd go. I'm glad CompUSA is making an effort to serve the Apple Macintosh user community better - it'll generate good publicity for CompUSA and help restore their reputation.

I see bad reports about CompUSA sometimes, and I always wonder if it's just isolated stores, or maybe people have long memories for the early growing pains with Apple a couple years back.

All I know for sure is, the two CompUSA's I have been to have had VERY nice Apple sections. They've had the latest Apple hardware right away after release, all the machines are nicely-displayed and running demos, they've got lots of software and accessories, and the staff is knowledgeable and encourages you to exit the demos and play around if you want to. The section is always in the back, but there's an Apple sign on the entrance and one hanging from the ceiling that you can see from all over,

It's not AS good as if I was near a real Apple Store, but it's definitely good enough for me.

Any mention of CompUSA reminds me of "A few suggestions to help make CompUSA a better store." (http://maddox.xmission.net/c.cgi?u=compusa_sucks)

A poster in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=99589) wasn't too excited about it. But there's still the Saturday event, now only two days away.
