Hard drive scenario

Hey guys,
Quick question, is it quicker to use Handbrake and have it rip to a standard 7200RPM HDD or to an SSD? The boot drive would be an SSD which it would read from but would be reading from but writing/encoding to my HDD in bay 2.

Even with the current 12 core machines the CPUs are the limiting factor, not the hard disc that is written to.
So it doesn't make any difference in terms of performance if you let handbrake write to a mechanical or flash disc.

Considering, however, that SSDs have limited write cycles I'd suggest you choose the HDD for your handbrake output.

+1 on that... unless you plan to keep the video on the SSD for future use, you might as well rip it to the mechanical drive.
