Good deal on 2009 2.66 MBP, worth buying?

My school is selling the new 2009 15' MBP 2.66 MB985LL/A for $1300(retail was $1999), just wonder if it's worth buying, is there really a big performance different btw this and current i5 MBP😕

I guess a $700 pc notebook will do, but I rather stick w/

If College stuff only constitutes web browser, word processing and email then by all means purchase it. A really good price and more than enough if those are what your needs consist of.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I believe these go for $1,500+ refurbished at the Apple Store. Are you still eligible for the free ipod touch? and free printer?

If it does come with a free iPod and Printer you could turn around and sell them. You would be able to knock off around $200 with those.

I'd take the $700 discount. That is an excellent deal on it, and it is plenty for a college student's needs.
