View Full Version : Graphics glitch *after* playing WoW [SOLVED]

Hello,
I started playing World of Warcraft again after a 6 month pause. I have the same system (09 MP), but I discovered something new. From a fresh boot, everything works fine. I then launch WoW: it works perfectly fine.
After quitting WoW however, I get very obvious screen tearing all over my OS X apps. Windows tear when I move them side to wide in finder or any other app, and video has a similar tearing effect.
I can't get rid of this problem without a restart... Can anyone show me how to "reset" my video without a complete restart?
Thanks
Loa
[Edit-Solution: Enabling V-Sync *in-game* solves the problem *after* the game is closed. - Thanks to Sinser.]

Don't know if that helps, but you can try. I've seen the same thing on my MacBook Pro after running WOW in windowed full screen mode on an external display. Looks like I can get rid of the screen tearing by enabling the v-sync option in WOW.

Hello,
Yep, V-Sync fixed it. In my case the effect occurred regardless of windowed mode.
I'm still wondering why I didn't see any tearing in-game, yet saw it after...
Anyway, thanks for the tip!

Wow had the same problem on my Air...thought it was a graphics problem with the laptop. Thanks for the solution!

Hello,
How's WoW on an Air? (and what are your Air's specs?)
Thx

I have the Rev. B 1.86 Core 2 Duo. It ran okay, but I almost always had it hooked up to a 24" 1920x1200 monitor that really diminished performance. It was playable, but at ~20 fps (with constant, drastic dips after an hour or so) it became somewhat frustrating at times. Playing off the 13" monitor is fine though and I got respectable fps. Hope that helps.

Hello,
Thanks for the info. Considering getting one (refurb or used), and knowing that I'll be able to play wow is good to know.

I got the refurb with a 128GB ssd. Highly recommend it. As long as you have a main computer (mac pro, I imagine) the Air is a great little machine.
