I totally recommend Connect360

if you someone that plugs you mac to TV a lot its totally worth it.

It's useful for preventing applications from "calling home" when entering a serial number to activate them ;)

Have you tried smcFanControl? It's really neat to be able to control the fan at the right speeds at the right times.

Gotcha, I was tactfully explaining that Mac Apps are Mac Apps. And this is covered over and over in that forum.
Is there any upgrade or application which is distinctive to the Pro?
Of corse it can, thats not really the point.

re Little SNitch: In general, its nice to have something sniffing your network looking for network transfers. Even if your software is legit, this can be really useful finding spyware, etc. etc.

I don't think that there are any apps that are special for the Pro.
Anyway, Little Snitch, CCC for bootable backups and Dropbox are on all my computers. Very useful tools.

Another vote for iStat Menu. Nothing better than seeing little graphs of all your cores processing like crazy.

That's a lot of money for watching some little graphs about CPU utilisation, especially considering that iStat Pro for the dashboard is free. ;)

Having just spent £4289 on a Mac I don't think £10 counts as a lot of money ;)
I believe Menu Meters is another free alternative, not tried it as yet.

Must-have app's for me:
SuperDuper
Default Folder X
Max
MacTheRipper
Toast Titanium*
*This might not be useful to some, but I work in the video industry, so it's a swiss army app for me. I use it constantly for making and burning DVD disc images. You can also batch export various video formats. For personal use, it's great for archiving DVD movies. You can easily burn directly from a VIDEO_TS folder and merge VIDEO_TS folders, copy/make a disc image, shrink, etc. You need MacTheRipper if you're backing up your protected DVD's, though. Oh another thing...Toast muxes MPEG-2 and ac3 files (without re-encoding) which is sweet.
