They go back to 1890. There have been 104 games.
Army is way out in front with 49 wins
Navy only 48 wins
Tied 7 times.
This could tie it up!
GO NAVY BEAT army!!!!!!!!!

No, they are going to fight their own private war. ;) The US is running out of places to liberate. :o

Sigh...at least Army didn't lose every single game AGAIN!
You have to wonder though, these academy teams pretty much suck compared to the rest of the NCAA D1-A Schools. I mean hell Bowling Green (they played Oklahoma's first game this year and are in the GMAC bowl....GO FALCONS!) could beat anyone of the three academy teams.
Makes you wonder don't it? These are the future leaders of the Military, and they can't win a football game to save their lives (most times)...how safe does that make you feel? ;)
Mike
NOTE: Having been in Army ROTC and having considered the Army as a career choice, I know that the military trains differently than a football team. The military seems to be all about the Areobic excercises and less on bulk muscle, do not take this post that seriously...it's a joke.

Also many of the athletically gifted at other universities and colleges could never pass the Academic Standards of the service Acadamies.

Well, I was in the Navy, so I should be happy about this I guess.
It's nothing like coming from a USC family though.

You're not from the U.S., so it's understandable that you wouldn't get this thread. This is typical American "my d*** is bigger than your d***" nonsense. Just pay no mind.

It would be good for Navy to win. Then their ongoing battle since 1890 would be a tie. Our fighting men seem to be evenly matched.

Like gwuMACaddict said, it's about sports rivalry. Think Oxford/Cambridge boat race...and replace Oxford with Army, Cambridge with Navy and boat race with American Football match and you've got it in one! ;) :p

Nor do they have the mass that typical regular university players have.
I remember the Army vs Notre Dame game some years ago. It looked like a pro team against a HS team. The size difference was considerable.

Very safe since playing football has nothing to do with closing with and destroying the enemy! :D
...yes, I know that you were joking.

wdlove, drop and give me 20 would mean to quickly get in to position for pushups and then do 20 pushups.
In aviaition officer candidate school (officer and a gentleman) the typical terminology was, "on your face, forever begin!"
Which meant to start pushups until the drill instructor gets tired!

Get down you nasty leg and start pushing! :D
(Leg --> Non airborne waste of existence! :D)
See what I mean, it is great to have good natured rivalry among the services.
