Is there any connection between this and the news that IBM is getting out of the PC business?

What was AIM Apple IBM Motorola then? and doesn't Apple help with development of the PPC?

oh well this is good news I guess more PPCs in the market means cheaper prices and faster development, doesn't it?

Thanks
MaT

This is quite some good news me thinks.. I don't know lots about this stuff, but I can imagine this speeding up the development of the processors. I don't really care about Sony, MS and such, but hope this is bringing Apple more and faster. We already missed the 3GHz after all :)

I certainly hope that Apple will become a member of the PowerPC consortium. It's surprising that they aren't already. Since they are collaborating on the G5 and beyond.
