Hello
You all have been so helpful, I legally burned my first dvd w/out anything but mac the ripper and my new G5imac!
Now I am trying to burn a new one and for some reason the mac the ripper is unresponsive.
I put in the DVD and opened mac the ripper and nothing happens. SO I stop the DVD.
I even threw away one version and reinstalled a new mac the ripper but it is still doing nothing..
Doesn't recognize the dvd.
What is happening?

I'm not sure that MtR works on unencrypted disks - is the DVD a commercial one?

I use MTR alot but more info on the dvd you are talking about and if its a ps2 dvd you don't rip those just direct copy for backup. You may need to let the dvdplayer play first but if it won't recognize the dvd there may be nothing to "rip"?
Can you give a screen shot? this may help.
Also what type of dvds, does it play on stand alone player?
If the version you have doesn't work there is a site just for this with the MTR creators on the threads alot which might help also.

Then scroll down to Mac forum and see if this helps :D

How do I copy it if it is not encrypted?

If you have Toast you just use the copy mode drag the folder into it then once it has the info it will eject your disk and ask for a blank dvd then select speed and then the big red candy like button :p
Sorry if you have Toast and know what to do but never know
If you don't have Toast then use disk image, then the burn feature.
Hope this helps

For your DVD ripping needs, handbrake is AMAZING.

So simple and easy to use.
