Needing to calibrate my U2711 and so I need to purchase a good quality calibration system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Spyder3 Pro was the one I was looking at but just wanted to get some opinions seeing how i've never calibrated before.

If you've never done calibration before, start with the Spyder 3 Pro or something in its price range. You will only need the better tools once you've trained your eyes for a while, by that time you'll know what to shop for.
Another neat trick is that you can use the Spyder to calibrate your TV using software from homecinema-fr (http://www.homecinema-fr.com/colorimetre/index_en.php).
