Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. But I am trying to record a clip from the internet and save it to my hard drive. I am not talking about a movie. It is a car commercial that I really like and I would like to save it. I am not talking about downloading anything, I would need to play the commercial and record it at the same time. Would iMovie do something like this?

Need some help please.

I believe that if you ctrl+click (right click) on the link for the commercial there should be an option for "download linked file as..." or some thing, and boom, you can save it.

The actual movie is ad_ford2_111804.wmv. If you can find out the full URL, you can download the movie... e.g. http://www.nbc.com/blah/blah/videos/ad_ford2_111804.wmv. I don't have time to find that URL, but maybe some JavaScript guru can help you.

Also, if you have media credentials, you could probably get the video directly from Ford.

[edit] I also recommend Ambrosia's Snapz app.

you cane use WireTap - find it at www.ambrosiasw.com

Its a great little app!

NINJA EDIT-whoops thought you meant an audio clip 😱
try option-clicking the link to it.

You can use SiteSucker on the exact URL to download it.

Search version tracker, because I kinda lost the URL... hehe... 😱

Great app, useful for sites that want you to Right Click on something to download it. Lo and behold, Safari doesn't. It also downloads websites for use offline.
