I see you added OWC SSDs to MBAs and had a performance question. I have a 2010 11" MBA 3,1 with 3G controller. OWC now only sells 240g SSD's with 6G controllers. Did you install 3G to 3G or 6G to 3G? I'm wondering if the 6G will just get throttled down to 3G or not. I'm getting read/write of about 100/100 currently and am hoping for a speed bump but don't know if the throttling will make the performance upgrade negligible (will get a size bump obviously) Any performance data.

It's a feature we added a while back. Basically, it shows you a notification if someone quotes your post. You can disable it in User CP as well, it is down at the the bottom.

Some users have reported issues with TRIM on SF-1200 based SSDs (such as the OWC Aura). Since SF based SSDs have pretty good garbage collection, there is absolutely no need to enable TRIM as the SSDs will remain fast without it. TRIM Enabler has restore function now though so in case it doesn't like TRIM, you can always disable the TRIM.

Personally, I probably wouldn't enable TRIM. It can always be enabled at a later date if the speeds start to degrade.

I'd like to include you on the prayer chain at church, not that it matters, we are Catholic, but I need your real name. They will remember your intentions at daily Mass, and daily Rosary, even if you aren't Catholic, can't hurt

Sorry, as I just realized you had sent this message to me. You can use a carbon copy cloner sandbox type copy. However, I would install fresh OS X myself. Just my thoughts, but people preach both ways. It's certainly easier to make a complete copy, but many like to reinstall as they think it's the fastest Mac. Some even reinstall the OS and then use a Time Capsule backup for apps. Best wishes to you Dave. Take care.
