hooking up apple tv audio

I have a quick question how is everyone hooking up your apple tv to your audio receiver if you don't have a digital optical in? Can I use the USB to send the audio like the ipod does? I'm wanting to get one and put in my bedroom.

The USB port is NOT usable by end users. It is a service port for apple.

Your only option is to buy an optical to analog converter. They are about $50.

What audio-ins do you have on the receiver/amp? If you don't have HDMI or optical in, then just send audio/video to TV over HDMI - then go audio out from the TV to the receiver/amp. Your TV might have analog RCA outputs...
