J Jim1267 macrumors newbie Original poster Sep 25, 2010 #1 I have a mac book running snow leopard. I am trying to boot from leopard dvd to install a backup os to a usb drive. The system tries to boot from the dvd but never gets past the "waiting" stage even after hours. Any ideas?

spinnerlys Guest Sep 25, 2010 #4 Have you verified the DVD via Disk Utility while booted into Mac OS X 10.6? Why don't you use the 10.6 DVD?
