I'm looking to purchase my second MacBook, the new Air 11" 64gb...

I'm a big movie fan and I was wondering about ripping DVD's to the Air.

Compared to watching them off the SuperDrive, am I going to loose any quality? If so, is it significant?

That brings me on to my second question, DVD ripping software. Will I need it to do this? If yes, if anyone can recommend me any good software I would appreciate it. I'd have a look at the free downloadable software first but if there is anything real good that costs, I don't mind having a look at that either.

Thanks

I use Handbrake to rip DVDs. It's free and it allows you to control the quality of your rips, but there's a learning curve involved.

RipIt is an inexpensive commercial app I've seen recommended a lot, but I don't have any experience with it.
