Just FYI
OS X 10.7 Lion enabled 64-bit kernel on late 2008 MacBook 5,1 Aluminum :p. Looks like the restriction on non pro MacBook is lifted. Wonder if it lasts past beta...

Do you notice any difference in performance compared with SL?

Hi. Can you expand on what you mean by this a bit more.

Do you mean under Lion your MacBook 5,1 will now boot to 64-bit kernel where it wouldn't under Snow Leopard?

I have a MacBook 5,2 which will only boot to 32-bit kernel.
