6970M in 20.5" iMac 2011?

Hi all,

Apologies if this or something similar has been posted elsewhere...
I currently have a 2.8Ghz i7 20.5" iMac (2011) with a 6770M 512mb.
My question is, am I able to replace this GPU with a 6970M as per the 27" models? Your help/answers are appreciated. Cheers. 🙂

the correct answer is "not offically"

im sure something could be done, as its an MXM removable board in the 2011 imacs, however it would likely need a custom heatsink creating, and custom firmware for the card.

so short answer

nope. 😀

because apple wont offer a decent video card in its imacs im going hackintosh for my desktop.
