What is the best car you've owned?

Im still learning to drive so my dream car would be the Pagani Zonda F. Ive been in love with that car since I first saw it on gran truism 3 all those years ago.

By best, i don't mean the highest price or biggest engine. Best as in personal favorite, maybe your first car, or the one you had the most memorable experience with?

BEST car so far was my '98 Plymouth Breeze. Cheesy little tin can, but it's been excellent on gas and fantastically reliable.

2006 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe, a lot of fun to drive, but I needed something with a bed in it, so I traded for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL. Great vehicle, the ride is great and there is plenty of room for my Home Depot runs and plenty of interior room.

Really tough question...

I've owned mostly BMWs, and I suppose if I had to give an accolade to the 'best' one it'd be the E46 M3 Convertible. I don't know, something about that car, that engine, it's a once-in-a-generation stand-out machine with an awesome (but very basic compared to modern ones) sequential manual gearbox that allows for some great blipping between downshifts. It's a very raw car, designed for speed and stability, and they're great value now so I'd happily recommend them provided you've got the money to have it properly serviced/maintained.

The one that I'm loving at the moment? I've been lucky enough to just buy one of the new Z4 sDrive35is's. This, IMHO, is the saving grace of the BMW Z4 line. More power, more noise, and the double-clutched 7-speed sequential manual transmission found in the current M3. Unlike the M3, however, this isn't a tool for carving between A and B as quickly as is humanly possible. The Z4 is about fun, and I rarely get above 3rd gear!

My 1989 Peugeot 205 GTi. 1.6l engine, light as a feather, lift-off oversteer. Just wish I could've afforded the insurance on it back when I was 18, instead had to sell it.

Only 200,000 kms. We had a 2000 Odyssey too, and I also drove donated vans for my "job".

Grand-niece is still driving it for Uni. ❤ Maybe over 250K now. Don't know.

Does it all. Excellent wind-in-the-hair roadster with enough power to have fun on the back-roads, RWD but totally civilised handling, non-tiring to drive hundreds of miles (recently drove 500 miles in a day and wasn't exhausted by the end of it).

Best track car, Porsche 968:

Perfect 50/50 balance, RWD, decent amount of power, superb gearing.

Honourable mentions to a 911SC (fab fun on a Sunday drive but a money-pit) and an MX-5 (delightful handling, 100% reliable).

We have a '98 SLK 230 and it is indeed a good little car. We've had it 8 years, pretty much trouble free except for a couple hydraulic issues with the roof. My only real complaint is the interior is fragile. Not quite what I expect from Mercedes.

I think they went through a rough patch there... I tried a (new) C-klasse around 2002 or 2003 at a dealer and the shift knob pulled out of the console in my hand. I've always had a soft spot for the SLK series, though. It's too bad they're (used ones anyways) never found with a manual transmission here.

(I've never owned anything fun, but I've liked my cars passably well).
