I don't see why this would be a problem.

It won't let you go pass the installation check. You have to at least delete the serverversion.plist file under /System/Library/CoreServices/ to make the installer think you are running a client version of Lion first.

I highly doubt this, considering the only way to get 10.8 Server is to first get 10.8 client and then buy the server.app in the MAS.
