Restoring Macbook Air

Hi, I have Windows installed on my Macbook Air.

I would like to wipe clean everything and restore the computer to its factory settings. (Also remove Windows)

I booted in recovery mode. I choose my hard disk and when I choose 1 partition, it says

"Partition failed with the error:

Couldn't unmount disk."

What do I do now? Thanks.

This is because the recovery partition is a partition of your main disk. You need to boot from an external disk/usb to be able to completely erase your internal SSD. There are easy ways to make an external Mountain Lion USB. I attatched a link to show you how to do it. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! Will I be able to completely format my HDD with this method?

And should I use Journaled when formatting?
