Restore RSS Visualiser Screen Saver

Cult of Mac have an article on how to restore the RSS Visualiser Screen Saver in Mountain Lion - Here

I always like the latest news on display when my Mac goes idle, so I thought I'd share it.

One note is that you need to show your Library Directory using the following Terminal command

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

You can hide it with this code

chflags hidden ~/Library

You have to place the .qrt file in your Home folder, not where all the other screen savers are stored.

Edit: To make things easier I have uploaded a copy of the file for download.

Restore RSS visualizer in Mavericks

Hi there Mac Geeks and Solution finders!
Thanks for all the tips how to restore the RSS screensaver on Mountain Lion. Now, I am trying the same on Mavericks but even with the RSS Visualizer.qtz file copied into the Library/ Screen Saver the RSS won't show up in the screen saver list.

mentioned not to copy it into the Library but into the Home folder.
That also didn't work.
Anybody any idea where to copy that file to in order to get my RSS visualizer back on the screensaver?

Hi rita2014,

You need to copy the file into home > Library > Screen savers.

You can do that by:

- On the Mac you want to install the screensaver on, go to Finder and locate the .qtz screensaver file
- Right-click the file and select "Copy"
- Press CMD+Shift+G
- Type "~/Library/Screen Savers/"
- Press CMD+V to paste the screensaver file

Then you should see it listed as a screensaver in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Savers.

does this work on montery? I want to use it again it break the news when steve jobs died back 10 years ago. thx
