I have an iPhone 5, iPad 3, and will soon have an iPad mini. I want to get an iPod strictly for music, so I can fit more other stuff on iPad/iPhone.

I saw a iPod classic 30gb at GameStop for 70.00. Is this a good deal? Just looking for a decent amount of memory for the cheapest price. Thanks in advance.

I have 10.7 gb of music on my ipad, so I need something with 16 gb or more.

Question becomes, how much music do you want on an iPod, if it is less than 2gb, go with shuffle, or even the nano.

base your purchase on that instead of price alone.

iPod Touch

They haven't made a 30gb iPod since 2006, so i would worry about the battery life of such an item.

It doesn't sound like you are looking to spend $200, but I'd still go with a 2nd gen iPod Touch 16gb. Or even a used/refurb 32gb touch. You get the storage space you need please so many extra features for not much more cost. You can also use pandora and other apps if you want to stream music from time to time..

It should be fine then. I believe the Classics use a conventional hard drive, verse the newer models with a flash drive. But if you don't mind a typical hard drive, go with it. I mean you have to pay like $150 at least for the 16 gb model of the Nano anyways.

70 bucks for a 30 gig iPod video is a good deal if it is in good shape. It will have the Wolfson DAC so it will sound great. It should store your collection for years. I own two of them and wouldn't sell one for $70.00.

I'm thinking of the same thing (buying refurb from Gamestop) but the 5.5 gen 80 gig for $120...hoping everything works out fine when I get it.

A 16GB iPod Nano is not much more expensive, and it is new. An iPod classic 30GB will be many, many, many years old. If many is tight, look for a refurbished iPod Nano, which is as good as new.

Are you trying to stay in a certain price range? You can get a brand new Classic at Amazon.com for $229. 160GB can hold an awful lot of music...

Then you are looking in the wrong place. I'd recommend the Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip 8 GB and you can add a microSD card which gives you up to 40 GB total capacity in a tiny package.
