iPad mini Lightning connector a little loose while plugged in

As I plugged in the Lightning connector into the mini I noticed it has a little play and seems kind of loose. My iPhone 5 is very snug. Anyone else able to move the connector back and forth a little? I'm just wondering if it's normal or not?
