Hi everyone ,

I am planing to remove the iMac memory 8GB ( 2x4GB) and replace with the 32GB (4x8 GB) ram . Can you please let me know which one is best for my new imac 27" late 2012 :

Crucial for Mac CT3327442
16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Non-ECC SODIMM CL11

Corsair Vengeance CMXS16GX3M2A1600C10
16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Non-ECC SODIMM CL10

Kingston HyperX KHX16S9P1K2/16
16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Non-ECC SODIMM CL9

Crucial CL11 guaranties the compatibility with the new iMac , but I don't want to go with that slow CL 11

Corsair vengeance CL10 is also compatible with the iMac as seen on recent youtube review , it works but not sure will be any diferences in term of performance between the CL11 and CL10

Kingston HyperX CL9 havent seen any review yet so not sure if having any issues with compatibility. Also interested to know that if the CL9 ram even work with the new iMac 27"

Ppl saying that go with the lowest CL9 for best performance but I am not sure if my iMac take full benefit or it just make the ram running @ CL11 only .

CL11 vs CL10 vs CL9.....

Any help is much appreciated .

Thanks heaps

It is generally a good idea to buy memory that is marketed to work with a mac. In this case only the crucial ram has the right CL (which is 11) for the imac.

If you use the other ram together with the apple ram that came with your imac you will run into issues, because the apple ram cant go as fast (cl 10 or lower).

I bought g.skill with 11 latency. $140 for 32gb. Should be fine, ill chime in if my iMac ever ships :)
