Hello

I just upgraded to a new Imac and gave my old iMac (about 5 years old) to my inlaws. for some reason they cannot get the internet to work on it. Well thats a lie it works like 1 out of a 100 tried. The wifi icon says that its connected - and they can connect on other wifi laptops in their house. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Id like to get it running for them

Just wondering -- is the iMac anywhere near the wireless router?

If it is close enough, just run an ethernet cable between them and forget about wireless.

This may result in far fewer problems "down the line" where you might be called upon to offer tech support...

Make sure their iMac is connected to their network and is not picking up and connecting to a neighbor's secured network.
