Howdy,

Sure this has been asked before, but what cable would I want to connect my Mac Mini late 2012 (Thunderbolt) to my 27" iMac mid-2010 Mini DisplayPort to use the iMac display in target mode?

Would a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC913ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-cable-20m?fnode=51) be fine? Or would I need to source out a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable?

I know thunderbolt is backwards compatible with Mini DP, and the fact I can't find the Mini DP to Mini DP cable on the Apple store suggests the Thunderbolt cable would be correct, but just like to check first?

Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable is the way to go. To my knowledge, the TB PORT can do both TB and DP, but not the cable itself.

Apple don't sell the MDP to MDP cables anymore do they? So I'll have to find one elsewhere I suppose (eBay here I come).

Try Monoprice. It's where I get all my cables. Decent build quality, excellent prices.
