What I have here is a
Macmini4,1
running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
that I want to upgrade to Lion 10.7.X as it is required by a new piece of software.
Obviously, Apple only sells Mountain Lion 10.8 via the App Store now.
Upgrading to Mountain Lion is not an option due to compatibility issues with other (older) software, known to cause problems on Mountain Lion. (Also, I strongly dislike the visible changes and socialeverythingisation Apple applied to the OS with the update, but thats just the icing on the cake)
I had bought Lion for my Mac Pro via the App Store and was wondering if I could somehow extract the updater from the rescue disk or something like that? I dont want to steal from Apple and I'd happily pay for the Lion part of Mountain Lion, so long I dont have to install the newer version.
Any chances?
