as the title says I'm having a really hard time backing up itunes library before I format my pc so I won't lose all files that I really worked hard for and the playlists...

how can I do that?
I tried the formal apple guide but it didn't help.

Is your library managed by iTunes? If yes, just copy the whole iTunes folder inside 'My Music'. This could also help.

There should be an iTunes folder in the Music folder. Back that up and you are good to go. If you didn't set iTunes to automatically manage your library, you can consolidate your library and then copy the iTunes folder. This option is in File > Library > Organize Library > check the "Consolidate files" option in the pop up window.
