Resolved Sparsebundle Partition Map

I am creating a sparsebundle on a new external drive to backup my server files (100 GB).

For the partition type, should I use "Single partition - Apple Partition Map" or "No Partition Map". I have always used "Single partition - Apple Partition Map" however I read that you don't really need a partition map if its just for backing up files.

So my question is what should I use and does it really matter?
