Hi I have a Creative Live Cam Sync HD 720P camera connected to my Mac Mini on 10.8.2.

If I record video from Photo Booth, I can hear the audio from the camera fine, but when I try FaceTime the other person hears nothing.

In the Sound preferences I can see "Live! Cam Sync HD VF0770" in the list of devices. This is selected and I can see the input level bar moving as I speak.

In FaceTime itself I have chosen Live! Cam Sync HD VF0770 from the Video menu under Microphone.

I can Face Time the other person from my iPhone and they can hear me fine so this must prove their system is ok.

Any ideas why Facetime doesnt work with the audio but other apps do?

It turned out it was an audio source thing for LogMeIn causing the trouble. Even though it wasn't selected it muted the camera's mic.

Uninstalled LogMeIn and cam is working fine :-/
