Hey everyone, i really need help in choosing between 2 macbook air models. The first is 2011 i7 1.8 model with 256ssd and the other is 2012 i5 1.8 model with 126ssd. Now i will be using it for web browsing, word editing, some occasional photo/video editing maybe, and some games (DOTA 2, nothing extravagant). I need your help and fast, deciding whether to get the older model for increased storage or will the 2012 model be better somehow (i think it has an improved gpu or something?). Both are used, 13 inch and 4 GB RAM, can't find any with 8 :/...

I can't buy from apple store because i live in Serbia so the choice is really between the two models from the post, i set DOTA 2 as the most graphically intensive task i expect it to perform, i think both will manage everyday tasks great...

2012 model has faster graphics, so I would go with that.

If the internal storage turns out to be too little for you you can always purchase a USB 3 external hard drive.

2011

If price between 2 models is comparable, I would go with 2011. 256GB will give you enough room bring only the mba without additional external disk (and mouse and charger) most of the time. That would be very compact and gives you more flexibility. Moreover, it seems you don't plan to run heavy tasks with the machine.

Wouldn't a 2012 still have at least 1 month warranty (or more) left on it? I would go with that one.

The warranty starts the minute you buy it new. The 2011 will have an expired year warranty because someone already bought it. I assume the 2012 would be brand new from Apple, but I could be wrong.

Yes... He says both are used. The earliest the 2012 could have been purchased would have been June. That's why I said it should have at minimum one month warranty left.
