Is there an OSX app similar to Doskey (Windows)

I found this very useful for repeating previously typed text ( ie for Google Search) or commands in Windows.

Are you talking about the Doskey that makes Command Prompt remember previous commands? Or something else? Because if it is the former, then the OSX terminal already has these.

I know about Terminal, I'm looking for something... ideally an app... that's as simple to use as Doskey ( which records keystrokes for ease of re-typing automatically)
