I'm seeking to upgrade from Picmonkey to another photo editing programme -

which does the same, but has more photo editing features.

What should I get?

Photoshop?

Photoshop Elements?

Gimp?

Or something else?

I'm worried that Photoshop may be too complicated to use compared to Picmonkey - but of course I don't want the new programme to be too simple either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Somewhere!
Photoshop is going to give you the most features with Photoshop Elements 11 coming close. Pixelmator will do a good job and is a lot cheaper at $14.99 in the App Store and is a good alternative to PS Elements. PS is going to cost you some money at $19.99/month (which will be getting harder to find a hard copy of since Adobe is going subscription with all its programs) and unless you are planning down the road to really get into it, not worth spending the money. PS Elements is currently $69.99 at Adobe and is a lite version of PS.

Have never used Gimp.

Any of the above mentioned will do a great job for you. Just depends on the money you want to spend.
