I just received this email tonight from Apple. It states that there was an error made where the credit card used was accidentally charged twice. As a result other than the fix, Apple gave me a free song code! I know it's sort of troubling but it's kind of a nice end. The email seems very strange though. Take a gander:

Dear ----------------,

You were incorrectly charged a second time for a recent purchase on the iTunes
Store. We have reversed the incorrect charge and you should see the credit
within 3-5 days, depending on how quickly your credit card processes the
reversal.

Our customers are very important to us and we'd like to apologize for any
inconvenience this might have caused.

Please accept a song from the iTunes Store as part of our apology. You can
redeem your code by clicking the link below.

This sounded really shady to me, but the code worked so i guess it is legit, but has anyone else encountered this before?

yeah.. if iTMS does anything like that, they get on it quickly. They don't wanna get sued by consumers by mischarging them.

It's happened before.. not to me, but I've seen it around the forums.
