Use iBook as DVD Player in Car?

Going on a trip, and looking into a car adapter for my iBook (other thread).

I'm thinking of using my iBook to play DVD's for the kids in the back. I have bucket seats in front, and a center console, so was thinking of strapping it down between the 2 front seets so the kids in the back could watch movies.

Anyone do this, and did it work ok? How was the skipping from bumps? I'm thinking volume might be limiting, but not sure.......

Anywho, any input appreciated. I'm just trying to avoid buying a seperate portable dvd player.....

I use my powerbook as such on road trips and its great, however I do use external speakers.. my 12" has crapola speakers.
