Rocketing through the sky!
I am in the market for an iPod Nano to replace my failing iPod mini for using when jogging/gym.

At Bestbuy they have an older model 2GB White Nano (the ones that look like the Video iPods do) for $120 cdn

Apple has the new 2GB Silver Nanos for $125 refurb.

Which one should I get? I prefer the white cosmetically and they seem to have a better click wheel/overall build quality but the battery life is less than the newer generation ones.

yep

2 gig silver refurb. It feels sturdier, has a better battery life and doesn't seem as prone to screen scratches as the original nano is/was.

I just got one to complement my video iPod and I'm nearly addicted to the Nike+ thing. Love it!

http://www.techrestore.com had 2 gig silver refurb nanos for $100 a while back. I'd check again.

I would go for the new 2gb silver.

I have one (got it for free for opening up a savings account at Key Bank last fall) and I love it.

I carry it everywhere, and no scratches yet.
