what do people think of this..?

we seem to get quite a number of posts about cheaper macs. most of these turn out to be scams and there has been few cases of someone getting burned pretty badly.

would it possible to warn people that since apple doesn't authorize retail discount of any form, except for bundling "free" stuff, if the price is lower than what's posted on the official site, buyers should be aware that someone is taking a loss.

this, of course, excludes educational, developer or other "special" discounts. there's gotta be a way to convey to people that when it comes to macs, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" applies more than other PC vendors...

if one sees a 17" PB for $2k, one shouldn't come here to ask for our opinion on the deal... it's so obviously a scam, makes me mad...
